At the rate of one new word about every 98 minutes...

...experts predicted that the 1,000,000th English Word will be achieved on June 8th at 4:22 pm (GMT).

Since 2003 the Global Language Monitor based in Texas has been tracking changes in the English language.

Once a new word is identified, its’ impact on culture plus the depth of use is measured before it is approved as a new word by the GLM.

Here in the UK the word “Flipping”, probably previously most associated with burgers at MacDonalds, takes on a whole new meaning in the wake of our recent political upheaval.
